Drywall Repairs and Retexturing

Drywall RepairDrywall RetextureSo you accidentally put an unsightly hole in your drywall? If you have ever tried to repair damaged drywall yourself, it doesn't take you long to realize that drywall repair is a job best left to the professionals. Unless you are an expert in drywall repair, it is difficult to make your repair job blend with the wall. Mr. D’s provides quality drywall repairs and wall retexture. Whether it’s repairing a hole in your wall or installing multiple sheets of drywall in a new installation, we’ll make sure your job is done right!

Drywall comes in different thickness and there is different drywall for each room or wall in your home. Fireproof drywall is 5/8 inch thick and is typically installed in areas where protection is needed, as in the kitchen or the wall between your home and garage. Greenboard drywall is usually installed in bathrooms, laundry rooms, and kitchens (typically in areas where water is being used).

Most outer walls and ceilings have 1/2 inch drywall. Generally, when drywall is installed, there is a thin coat of joint compound or drywall mud applied over it to make the surface smooth, then texture is applied on top. Texture is applied to hide the seams and provide a uniform finish. Texture can be applied several ways. For example, there is the hand trowel or skip trowel texture that is normally applied to ceilings and walls in newer homes, whereas orange peel texture is usually applied with a hopper and compressed air. Mr. D’s will be able to match your existing wall texture when repairing a small hole or crack in your drywall, or will apply new texture when installing several sheets of drywall. In either case, you will receive professionally looking results.
